WELCOME TO BRANDYWINE VALLEY SUMMER NIGHTS!

Spend a summer evening or two learning something new or doing what you love!  From sports to art to theater, there is something for everyone. Summer Nights are taught by passionate coaches and teachers who enjoy sharing their enthusiasm for their specialty and helping children learn and have fun in an uplifting and safe environment!

VOLLEYBALL SUMMER NIGHTS 

Date: Monday Nights:  June 21 - August 9th

Time: 6:00-7:30pm

Grade: 4th - 8th Grade

Price: $125

Location: Upland Country Day School

Registration Closes: Sunday, June 20th

Designed for first-time players and those wanting to improve fundamental volleyball skills, this program includes skill development through drills, instruction and fun and challenging games. The schedule includes instructional practices and activities with a focus on basic skills of passing, setting, serving, hitting, as well as more advanced techniques. The dates for this program are: 6/21, 6/28, 7/5, 7/12, 7/19, 7/26, 8/2, 8/9.  All skill levels welcome!  

BASKETBALL SUMMER NIGHTS 

Date: Tuesday Nights:  June 22 - August 10

Time: 6:00-7:30pm

Grade: 3rd - 8th Grade

Price: $125

Location: Upland Country Day School

Registration Closes: Sunday, June 20th

Participants new to basketball will learn the basic fundamentals of the game, such as ball handling, proper shooting form, passing techniques, and man-to-man defensive principles. Participants with more experience will work on advanced techniques such as evasive dribbling moves and learning to maneuver around opponents on the court.  The dates for this program are: 6/22, 6/29, 7/6, 7/13, 7/20, 7/27, 8/3, 8/10.  All skill levels are welcome!

BOYS LACROSSE SUMMER NIGHTS 

Date: Wednesday Nights: June 23 - August 11

Time: 6:00-7:30pm

Grade: 3rd - 8th Grade

Price: $125

Location: Kennett High School fields

Registration Closes: Sunday, June 20th

The program is designed for rising 3rd to 8th graders that want to build on the fundamentals of lacrosse, such as cutting, dodging, shooting, offensive and defensive skills, situational play and goalie instruction.  These sessions will focus on developing skills to better understand lacrosse acumen in a fun-filled 90 minutes.  The dates for this program are: 6/23, 6/30, 7/7, 7/14, 7/21, 7/28, 8/4, 8/11.

GIRLS LACROSSE SUMMER NIGHTS

Date: Wednesday Nights: June 23 - August 11

Time: 6:00-7:30pm

Grade: 2nd - 8th Grade

Price: $125

Location: Kennett High School fields

Registration Closes: Sunday, June 20th

This program is designed for rising 2nd to 8th Graders at all skill levels who want to learn or build on the fundamentals of lacrosse.  Players with more experience, will work on non-dominant hand, cutting, dodging, offensive and defensive skills. Unique experiences such as guest speakers and fun summer time games will be incorporated into the 90 minute clinics. The dates for this program are: 6/23, 6/30, 7/7, 7/14, 7/21, 7/28, 8/4, 8/11.

THEATER SUMMER NIGHTS

Do you have an interest in acting?  Are you thinking of trying out for your school play?  This program will provide an introduction to stage performance or continue to develop a participant's knowledge and experience of performing.  Topics covered will be basic theater terminology, voice control and body movement, and behind the scenes skills such as stage makeup, costumes and lighting.  We’ll play fun theater performance games and learn about performing in an encouraging and supportive environment.  This program is designed by Calabrese Performing Arts, Inc and is sponsored by the Kennett Amateur Theatrical Society (callkats.org)  The dates for this program are: 6/23, 6/30, 7/7, 7/14, 7/21, 7/28, 8/4, 8/11.  

 

ICE HOCKEY SUMMER NIGHTS

Date: May 24 - September 6

Grade: 5th - 8th Grade

Location: TBD; local ice rinks

This program is for experienced ice hockey players who would like to continue to enhance their stills throughout the summer.  There will be four tournaments - May 28th-31st, June 11th-13th, July 16th-18th, and September 3rd-6th.  Practices are 5/24, 5/26, 6/1, 6/7, 7/6, 7/12, 8/23, 8/30 and take place in local ice rinks.
