Southern Chester County Volleyball

WELCOME TO SOUTHERN CHESTER COUNTY VOLLEYBALL!
The mission of Southern Chester County Volleyball is to provide a fun, safe, and positive environment devoted to promoting an educational, recreational, and competitive volleyball experience. We seek to develop each player to the best of their ability and promote a spirit of sportsmanship and community with players, coaches, and parents/guardians. This is one of the few recreational volleyball programs in the area. This program is designed to be an “in-house” developmental league for all skill levels, and we hope to incorporate some in-house scrimmages to gain game experience!
Welcome Coach Sarah Lazor! Coach Sarah has been playing volleyball since elementary school and she is currently the Girls Volleyball Coach at Octorara High School. She is also a Coach for the Blast Volleyball Club. (https://www.blastvbc.com/) and the Boys Volleyball Coach for Kennett Middle School. Coach Sara is excited to Coach for SCC Volleyball and is looking forward to a great season. For the late Fall 2024 season, we will be offering a program for 6th-8th grade students only.

Program Structure
The co-ed league will structure teams based on level of play starting with introducing the game of volleyball and building a foundation of skills in a fun and positive environment. Focus will be on basic to advanced volleyball skills. A variety of games will be used to introduce players to rules, teamwork, and competition. Depending on the number of players registered, players may be separated by one or more of the following: age, grade, size and experience.
The Season: 4 Developmental Clinics
Important: This season, we will be offering volleyball grades 6th–8th only.
This late Fall program season will consist of 4 sessions lasting 2 hours each. Focus will be on skill development and improvement for all levels. This is a great way to continue to build
upon skills learned in past season or on your school team as well as help prepare
players interested in playing club this winter. We feel the repetition of a longer stretch of
time will be more impactful for the athletes' overall development.
Practices:
WHEN: Tuesday Nights 6:15-8:15pm
WHEN: Oct, 29, Nov 12th , 19th , 26th (no session on Tuesday Nov 5th as schools as
closed)
WHERE: Kennett Middle School
Please note: Email us if you are willing to assist our lead coach at practices - you do not need volleyball experience to help on the court - it's fun!!
Equipment
Safety is of utmost importance to our organization and each player will need to provide his or her own equipment. It is up to parents/guardians to ensure their player is using equipment that meets current safety standards. We do strongly recommend volleyball shoes and knee pads for safety.
Coaching
All Southern Chester County Volleyball coaches volunteer their personal time to make this program a huge success and we are always looking for volunteers. The number of players Southern Chester County Volleyball can accept is directly related to the number of coaches who volunteer. In order to ensure a positive experience for players, there will be limits set for each age group based on the number of coaches who volunteer.
Coaching Southern Chester County Volleyball is a great way to support families and youth in our community. Coaches teach more than sport specific skills - they help our young athletes develop important life skills. As a coach, you can have a positive influence on parents and players, as well as be an excellent example of community support and pride.
