Southern Chester County Volleyball

WELCOME TO CHESTER COUNTY VOLLEYBALL!
The mission of Southern Chester County Volleyball is to provide a fun, safe, and positive environment devoted to promoting educational, recreational and competitive volleyball for athletes in 4th through 8th grade! We seek to develop each player to the best of their ability and promote a spirit of sportsmanship and community with players, coaches, and parents/guardians. This is one of the few recreational volleyball programs in the area, so as a result, there are not a large number of opponents to play - however, we are growing! This is a developmental league for all skill levels and we hope to incorporate some games against other leagues towards the end of the season. We will focus on in-house scrimmages to gain game experience!
Volleyball coaches volunteer their personal time to make this program a huge success. The number of players Southern Chester County Volleyball can accept is directly related to the number of coaches who volunteer. In order to ensure a positive experience for players, there will be limits set for each age group based on the number of coaches who volunteer.
Marouane Jafir of Delaware United Volleyball is supporting and guiding our volleyball program! Marouane is in his 12th year as club Director and Coach at Delaware United and has over 20 years of combined experience playing internationally and professionally and coaching at the high school, club, collegiate and university levels. You can find out more about Marouane and his club here: Delaware United Volleyball Club

Program Structure
The co-ed league will structure teams based on level of play starting with introducing the game of volleyball and building a foundation of skills in a fun and positive environment. Focus will be on basic to advanced volleyball skills. A variety of games will be used to introduce players to rules, teamwork, and competition. Depending on the number of players registered, players may be separated by one or more of the following: age, grade, size and experience. Practice and game schedule will be coming soon!
The Season: Practices and Games
The season will start on September 12th and run through the end of October. Each age group will practice 1 night/week for 2 hours. We feel the repetition of a longer stretch of time will be more impactful for the girls overall development. After warm-ups, there will be more time for skill and play development having more time than 1 hour.
Equipment
Safety is of utmost importance to our organization and each player will need to provide his or her own equipment. It is up to parents/guardians to ensure their player is using equipment that meets current safety standards. We do recommend volleyball shoes for safety.
Coaching
All Southern Chester County Volleyball coaches volunteer their personal time to make this program a huge success and we are always looking for volunteers.
