What are your hours of operation?
Summer Adventures Camp is open from 8:30am to 4:00pm. We do not offer After Care.
Where is the camp located?
Summer Adventures Camp is located in the beautiful New Garden Township Park and Buildings. New Garden Park is a quiet park situated in-between the New Garden Township Building and the Southern Chester County Regional Police Department Building. Camp will be at New Garden Township buildings, and the pavilions, trails, sports fields, and playground at New Garden Park.
What is the Drop Off/Pick Up procedure?
In the mornings, Summer Adventures Camp has a drop off line at the Lyceum House in the upper parking lot of New Garden Park. There will be signs in the parking lot to direct you. All Parents/Guardians must park and physically sign your child in and out of camp each day, there will be no exceptions. The drop off line is operational until 9:00AM. After that, Parents/Guardians will need to contact the Camp Director. Parents/Guardians will need to walk their child in to meet a staff member.
In the afternoons, pick up will be at 4:00PM at the Lyceum House in the upper parking lot of New Garden Park. Parents/Guardians are primarily responsible for picking up their child. All Parents/Guardians must park and physically sign your child in and out of camp each day, there will be no exceptions. A Director will sign your child out upon departure. If other arrangements are made, the Director or Assistant Director must be notified with the name of the individual picking up their child. Please remind the person picking up your child, that they will be required to show proper identification.
Is there Before Care?
At this time, Summer Adventures Camp is not offering Before Care. If you need to drop your child off early, please contact the Camp Director to make arrangements.
Can we tour the facilities?
Absolutely. The New Garden Township building is open from 8:00am-4:00pm Monday-Friday. New Garden Park is open to the public, dawn to dusk, and you may come at any time to tour the park or the facilities.
Who is on your camp staff?
Summer Adventures Camp has a Director and an Assistant Director. Counselors are high school and college students with experience in childcare. All staff are CPR/First-Aid certified.
What is the counselor to camper ratio?
For Summer Adventures Camp, the number of campers per counselor is no more than 7 children. Campers are grouped together by age.
What does my child need to bring to camp?
Each day you will need to send your child with a lunch, snack, a refillable water bottle, and a beach towel. No glass bottles or containers are permitted. Campers are expected to wear sneakers with socks every day for their safety, no flip flops of any kind are permitted. To be sure your child is protected from the sun during outdoor activities, please apply sunscreen to your child in the morning before they are dropped off at camp.
What is the medication policy?
All medication must be given to your child prior to arriving at camp. Our staff is not able to administer medication.
What is the weather policy?
Thanks to the camp location in the New Garden Township Buildings, Summer Adventures Camp operates rain or shine.
What is the electronics policy?
Summer Adventures Camp recommends that you do not allow your child to bring expensive electronic games or phones to camp. If they must have a phone, please understand that we will ask them to keep it in their bag during the camp day. In order to be fully present and engaged during the camp day, phones should be used for emergency purposes only with permission from staff.
How do field trips operate?
Summer Adventures Camp goes on 1-2 field trips per week. Counselors and campers will receive camp t-shirts to identify them as part of this camp. Campers are required to wear their camp shirt on field trip days.
What if my child doesn't attend the field trip?
Summer Adventures Camp does not provide optional child care (instead of attending the field trip) on field trip days.
